Pumpkin Patch Trolley (11AM-3PM)
September 25 @ 11:00 am - September 27 @ 3:00 pm
Join Seashore Trolley Museum in beautiful Kennebunkport, Maine for our 22nd Annual Pumpkin Patch Trolley, which will be held on Friday/Saturday/Sunday September 25, 26, 27 and October 2, 3, 4, and 9, 10, 11. The event will be held outdoors, rain or shine.
Tickets are available for rides that depart our Visitors Center at 10:50AM, 11:35AM, 12:20PM, 1:05PM, 1:50PM and 2:35PM. Multiple trolleys will be operating during each time slot to ensure social distancing on the trolley ride is maintained.
The perfect socially distanced fall event for families and friends of all ages to enjoy! Board at our Visitors Center and take a trolley ride on our heritage railroad to The Pumpkin Patch. Each member in your group can select a socially distanced pumpkin to take home (even the adults!)! Hop back on the trolley with your pumpkin and enjoy a 30-minute ride on our heritage railroad.
Back at our Visitors Center we will have pandemic-friendly activities to enjoy! For those who have been to this event before, this year activities will all be held on our main campus; in a “normal” year all of our activities are held at The Patch, but due to pandemic restrictions we’ll be changing it up this year!
Activities available include:
Pumpkin Painting! Paint your pumpkin at our pumpkin painting station! Leave it out to dry while you enjoy other activities. Disposable brushes will be used, and a volunteer will squirt your paint colors on a paper plate.
Craft in a Bag! Make it at the event or take it home with you!
Cookie Walk! Round and round you go (in a socially distanced circle); when the music stops, find a number on the ground to stand next to. We spin the wheel and if your number comes up, you win a pre-packaged cookie (or non-edible prize if cookies aren’t as exciting for your group as they are for us)! Play as many times as it takes you to win!
Photo Scavenger Hunt! Take the Seashore Challenge and go on a photo scavenger hunt around campus, using your phone to document your progress! When you’re finished, show our Museum Store employees your photos or post them to one of our social media pages, and you will be entered for a chance to win a free 2021 Seashore Family Membership!
Enjoy our Museum! Explore three carhouses filled with beautiful, restored trolleys and several other precious transit artifacts around our outdoor campus!
As we are posting this, Halloween is a big unknown still this year. So, even though it’s a little early for Halloween, Costumes are Encouraged at our event! Why not! We will be giving out prizes each day for Best Costume and Best Face Mask. Why not!
Come hungry to the event and enjoy TEXAS GRACE KITCHEN for lunch! What?! We know! We’re so excited this local favorite food truck will be with us all 9 days of our event. Check out their everyday menu here, to get a sense of their offerings: http://www.texasgracekitchen.com/ The Museum also has several picnic tables available for those who would like to bring your own lunch as well.
The Seashore Trolley Museum is taking the pandemic very seriously. Masks are required inside our Visitors Center, on the trolley ride, and when social distancing isn’t possible outdoors. High touch surfaces on trolleys are cleaned before and after each ride. We have turned off our water fountain per State of Maine guidelines, so please bring your own water (and we have water, beverages and pre-packaged snacks for sale in our Museum Store). We have closed the items we have on display in the carbarns; traditionally our guests can go in all of our collection pieces and ring the bell, sit inside them, etc., but we just do not have the volunteer crew available to clean them as frequently as required during the pandemic. Check out our full external and internal COVID-19 policies, here before purchasing tickets: https://trolleymuseum.org/learn/bylaws-policies/covid-19-policies/
If the weather isn’t “sparking joy” the day you have purchased tickets to attend, please be encouraged to transfer your tickets to another Pumpkin Patch date, using Eventbrite. Tickets are non-refundable after the last date (October 11th).
If you have any questions, please reach out to our Executive Director, Katie Orlando, at [email protected] or call (207) 967-2800 x111.
