Volunteer Help Wanted: Safety Coordinator

Seashore Trolley Museum seeks a part-time Safety Coordinator. The Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to ensure the campus grounds are safe for members, volunteers, employees and guests.

The Safety Coordinator works in concert with museum volunteers who comprise a Safety Committee to complete routine inspections of all facilities and grounds, identifying areas that need barriers, repairs, or other adjustments to create a safe environment for all. The Safety Coordinator identifies volunteers and/or staff members to complete safety repairs, as needed.

Before all large campus events, the Safety Coordinator or Safety Committee designee works alongside the Executive Director, Facilities & Grounds Manager and Railway Operations Director to establish plans for the flow of traffic and guests. After the event, the Coordinator leads a safety debrief to note any adjustments needed for future events.

The Safety Coordinator recruits volunteers to serve on the Safety Committee.

The Safety Coordinator works alongside the Executive Director, Shop Director, Facilities & Grounds Manager and the Safety Committee to long-term plan for significant upgrades in campus safety.

The Safety Coordinator is supervised by the President & CEO.
