New Hampshire Day at Seashore!

June 21

New Hampshire Day at Seashore on June 21st pays tribute to two beautiful cars in our collection that will be on display; these are Car 38 and the aptly named, City of Manchester. Residents of New Hampshire gain admission for only $6.03! Why $6.03? Those from the Granite State will know that 603 is the area code for the entire state. By the way… children from NH five and under get in free!

Car 38 was the second car ever acquired by Seashore, and its restoration entailed extensive interior work, including new cherry woodwork and upholstery. Now, this car, that once graced the tracks between New Hampshire and Massachusetts, has been restored to its former glory. You will want to see it!

The City of Manchester was built by the Briggs Carriage Company of Amesbury, Massachusetts, in 1897. Used for official inspection trips over the Queen City system for many years, the City of Manchester has a small body with beveled plate glass windows and unusually large platforms with wrought iron railings. The elegant design of this car, including the thick carpet, curtains, and wicker furniture, made it suitable for private passage by high officials and visiting dignitaries.

Even if you are not from NH these two trolleys are a thing of beauty and not to be missed!
